The 21st Annual Gabriola Thanksgiving Studio Tour is just around the corner, this October 7-9.

Eighty-four Gabriolan artists (as well as 15 new artists and many Tour veterans) are opening 65 studio doors to welcome neighbours, families, and art lovers.

This is a great chance to don cozy sweaters and get a glimpse of their studios, galleries, workshops, and of course their stunning work to fill both heart and home.

Known for its artistically-nurturing community, the “Isle of the Arts” attracts new artists every year.

2017’s new artists are Sarah Chiasson, Eyan Myers, Shawntah Breen , Joan Badke, Gary Badke, Merrily Allanson, Rob Robinson, Sah’Rah Kerfoot, Andre Nobels, Carol Weaver, Kim Cowley-Adam, Semih Fisekci, Sue Swift, Billi Mercier, and Ode Howard.

Clay, painting, jewellery, woodwork, metalwork are just some of the mediums that these new artists are bringing to the Tour.

The studios wills be open 10am to 5pm on October 7-9, 2017 with the Tour Kick-Off Soiree on Thursday October 5th at 6:30pm at Tour Central: the newly renovated Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre.

Visiting sixty-five studios in one weekend can be challenging, so Tour goers can preview their work at the Tour Kick-Off Soiree or during the Tour hours.

For the 2nd year in a row, the Tour brochure features the Passport.

Visit 20 studios on Tour weekend and be entered in to win Dinner for two at The Kitchen, a 2-night stay at the Surf, and $100 Art Bucks. Sponsored by The Kitchen and The Surf.

New this year is Gabriola in the City. An art show in Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter, running September 25-October 15 at Charcoal: Artist Emporium and Henna Lounge, featuring 2017 Gabriola Studio Tour artists.
