Annual Halloween Fireworks postponed due to heavy rain
A month ago Gabriolans were worried the dry fire conditions would mean the cancellation of the annual Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department Halloween Fireworks show.
Now though, the fireworks show will be delayed because of heavy rains, according to Firefighter Claire Watson who made the announcement Halloween morning.
15 to 25 mm of rain is expected to fall in the Nanaimo region on Wednesday during the day, with another 5 to 10 mm in to the evening according to the Environment Canada forecast.
The fireworks have been re-scheduled for Friday, November 9. Still at Twin Beaches. Still at 7 pm. Still with a bonfire, BBQ and candy courtesy the Gabriola Firefighters Association.
