You are all invited to attend the annual Food Forum on Sat. Feb. 18th at the Community Hall.

The Food Forum has become a popular mid-winter event, where the hall is a buzz of information-sharing with our local farmers and gardeners.

And if they succeed in growing some greens over this truly Canadian snowy winter, they will bring them to sell.

As always this event gets us inspired to want to get outside into our gardens as soon as the warmth of spring returns. With this in mind, it is our first opportunity to buy locally grown vegetable seeds direct from the grower.

As well, Gabriola’s award-winning New Society Publishers will once again bring a variety of their books for sale about food-growing and agricultural practices in general.

Besides this valuable communication, there will also be food items for sale produced by local food vendors: jams, cookies, pies, apple cider samples, kiwis, garlic, herbs (food as medicine) and spring rolls.

The Food Forum starts at Noon and goes until 3 PM. Admission is by donation to pay for the hall rental.
