“Those seeking views of the Taj Mahal will be disappointed,” Gabriola travellers and photographers Steve Struthers and Alison Douglas promised when describing their new presentation based on a recent photo-journey to seldom visited regions of India.

Many islanders have enjoyed Steve and Alison’s travel talks about their treks to Antarctica, New Guinea, Burma and China’s Yunnan Province - always spiced with a liberal dose of humour. Their latest show on Hidden India promises the same combination of exotic locales, stunning images and entertaining commentary.

At 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Rollo Centre, Steve and Alison will share their story of the voyage to Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat. While they had opportunities to experience chaotic markets in tiny traditional villages, they interacted with more than 62 diverse ethnic groups in Orissa alone.

This event is sponsored by the Gabriola Museum. It is the last in the Museum’s 2016 Spring Gabriola Stories presentation series. Admission is by donation; refreshments will be available. For more information, visit gabriolamuseum.org
