Classical music fans on Gabriola will be feeling the love this Christmas at the Gabriola Chamber Ensemble’s December 15 concert.

Under the direction of GCE musical director, Brad Shipley, “Love Came Down at Christmas” will feature the Ensemble’s choir and orchestra performing stirring selections from William Byrd’s Mass for Four Voices and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, as well as an assortment of early and new music favourites that will convey the caring sentiments of this special season.

The concert will also include the premier performance of a piece specially composed for the Ensemble by local musician, Nico Rhodes. Love Came Down gives its title and theme to this year’s concert and will delight listeners with its expressive freedom.

In addition, the orchestra will perform Flower Duet by Leo Delibes and Minuet by Luigi Boccherini, and special guests The Gabriola Brass will treat listeners to a medley of enchanting Christmas pieces.

Attendees will be charmed by an amazing selection of silent auction items – donated by members of our lovely and loving Gabriola community.

Make sure to join the Chamber Ensemble for this exciting, warm performance at 3pm on December 15 at Christ Church Gabriola (2600 South Road).

Tickets are $15 at the door – children under 16 can attend free with an adult.
