Under the guidance of artist Dianna Bonder, Gabriola students will be participating in a week-long workshop over the spring break learning how to illustrate for books.

The focus will be on learning a variety of mediums and techniques and then applying them to a scene from a classic picture book such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Where the Wild Things Are.

They will paint, illustrate and create their own version of the classic.

Upon completion of the program, each student will have created an original piece of art.

Curated by Bonder, these works will be on exhibit in the HIVE Gallery throughout the Easter Weekend.

Opening reception on March 24, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. FREE Join these young artists in celebrating their artistic achievements.

This project is supported by the Gabriola Recreation Society.
