This week down at the Roxy: Friday, April 13, 7:30 p.m.: “To Make A Farm.” A timely and very important film. Today there is a movement of young people without farming backgrounds taking up this challenging profession. “To Make A Farm” follows the lives of five such people through their first seasons on the land as the joys and disappointments of bringing life from the earth become a quiet manifesto for social change. Documentary filmmaker Steve Suderman searches his own family history in farming to wonder if the mistakes of the past can be avoided this time through. $5 entrance to cover costs. Roxy doors open at 7 p.m.
Saturday, April 14, 7:30 p.m.: Robert’s Place Dinner and a Movie Date Night. Excellent dinner and a free movie afterwards. Dinner reservations start at 5 p.m. and the film starts at 7:30 p.m. These Robert’s Place events are very popular so reservations are usually necessary and appreciated (250-247-2010). The film: the wonderfully amazing fable, “The Legend Of 1900.” The food: barbecue. Roxy doors open at 7 p.m.
Rent the Roxy for any event, party, movie, presentation, etc. of your choice: $25/hr. Contact for more details.
