“Tap Dance Sensations,” promises to be all that and much more: an evening of exceptional, exciting and entertaining movement and music. It’s another totally unique and wildly popular Gabriola presentation by Vancouver Tap Dance Society producer and Island resident, Sas Selfjord.

Internationally renowned tap artists – Joel Hanna and Tre Dumas – will be featured at the Surf Lodge, November 20th (8 pm). Both highly acclaimed and accomplished dancers were featured in the global phenomena, “Riverdance,” and have achieved stellar, individual fame.

“Hanna’s dynamic style, body percussion and speed is breathtaking,” the BBC raved. “Genuinely skilled and appealing,” adds the NY Times.

Dumas – the current VTDS artist-in-residence  – has an equally long list of impressive credits, including the celebrated Chicago Human Rhythm Project and M.A.D.D Rhythms.

Two of the most exciting dancers to ever step on the word stage, they are masters of the athletic and diverse mix of the roots of tap dance and innovative, boundary-breaking choreography.

They also sing, very well. And they will be accompanied by the masterful sensitivity of Tim Harrison, for an unforgettable performance of dance and song. This intimate venue and very limited tickets ensures everyone will enjoy every precise, rapid fire step.

Tickets ($23) are available at the Hive and the Surf.
