Wed., Apr. 19 - Gabriola Island’s Toward Truth & Reconciliation group will present Angry Inuk at 1pm on April 19th. It will be at the Gabriola Public Library. This is being held as part of National Canadian Film Day (NCFD), in a dual celebration of Canadian film as well as our nation’s sesquicentennial. There are roughly 1,700 screenings happening across the country and even abroad on this day! In BC alone, we have 220 events, including in schools, prison book clubs, retirement homes, and even on a train. Sun., Apr. 23 - Gabriola Chamber Ensemble, under the direction of Brad Shipley, presents Madrigals in the Springtime with Special Guests. 5pm, Gabriola United Church. Join the GCE as they fill the spring evening air with early period classical music. Madrigals, sacred choral works and intriguing sounds from ‘shape note music’ which originated in 18th century New England. Special Guests: Faire Winds Quintet and The Lund’smen.
