Tues., Apr. 5 - iPad Made Easy. 1:30-2:30 pm. Learn basic features, get how-to tips and have your questions answered along the way. Bring your own iPad for this free, hands-on session at the Library. Please contact the library at 250-247-7878 to register.

Tues., Apr. 5 - Silva Bay Yacht Club is hosting a presentation by Cliff Robb about his experience working on the building of an circa 1800 replica of a Tall Ship in California. 7:30 at Ellins Residence, 50 Haig Road. Everyone Welcome.

Thurs., Apr. 7 - Gabriola Garden Club has guest speaker Linda Gilkeson. Her presentation will be on Pests in the Garden. Her latest book will be available on gardening during climate change. Rollo Centre:  Doors Open: 7 pm, Meeting: 7:30 pm. Everyone welcome.

Fri., Apr. 8 - Auditions for “A Week with Pooh” Rollo Centre. 7pm.   Questions?  Call Mark, 250-247-7526. Play is for all ages.

Sat., Apr. 9 - Lorraine Min, pianist. Steinway Artist and critically acclaimed pianist, Lorraine Min has dazzled audiences internationally with her poetic artistry and brilliant virtuosity.  Saturday, April 9th at The Phoenix Auditorium.

Sun., Apr. 10 - Come out and enjoy the Gabriola Island Singers’ Spring Concert at 2:30and 7:30pm at the Community Hall. Special guests are Margaret Sutton and The Lund’smen. Director Gail Lund and choir members have created a great selection of new compositions and some new arrangements of your favourite songs. Admission is by donation in the afternoon and $15 at the door for the evening performance.

Thurs., Apr. 14 - The Borealis String Quartet and David Braid, pianist. One of the most dynamic and exciting world-class ensembles of its generation, The Borealis String Quartet teams up with multi-Juno Award winner and Steinway Piano Artist David Braid.  Thursday, April 14th at The Phoenix Auditorium.

Thurs. Apr. 14 – Gabriola Recreation Society AGM, 5 p.m. at G.R.S. office, south end Elementary School, Room 113. Must enter via south door, under big G.R.S. sign. Sat., Apr. 16 - Double Feature Movie event at the HOPE Centre, hosted by the Teen Peer Helpers. Aladdin ($3) from 1:30 to 3pm. Back to the Future ($5) from 4 till 6. Child care available during the second movie. Slushies, popcorn, cupcakes, and all the usual treats.

Tues. & Wed., Apr. 19 & 20 – Twilight Radio Theatre presents a live radio theatre double feature with special guest Garry Davey, at the Surf Lodge. 7:30pm. Tix $20- from Hive Emporium and the Surf. For pre-show dinner reservations call 250-247-9231

Fri., Apr. 22 from 7-9pm, and Sat. Tuesdays - Library Lego Club. (Resumes April 5) 3-4:30 pm. Drop-in free play Lego time. Best suited for children 6 – 12 years.

Wednesdays - Family Storytime at the Library. (Resumes April 5) 10:30-11 am. Favourite stories, songs, and rhymes! For children birth to 5 years. Drop in.

Thursdays - Compassionate Connections – ‘A safe place to talk about hard things’ – Sharing & listening. Saturday, August 13: Annual Salmon BBQ at the Gabriola Island Community Hall. 4pm to 7pm. All funds raised support the Gabriola Island Community Hall Association
