Wed., Aug. 15 - It’s summer and the Gabriola Library is hosting an afternoon movie matinee perfect for families. 2pm-4pm. Showing a family-friendly movie on the big screen, complete with popcorn! See Library for movie selection. Free, drop in.

Fri., Aug 17 - Sun., Aug 19 - Cultivate. A Performing Arts Festival from the Gabriola Arts Council at the Gabriola Commons. Tickets at artsgabriola.ca or at the Festival booth in Folklife Village.

Sat., Aug. 17 - Motion Commotion Magic Show. 11am - 12pm. Join Magician Leif David for a very special magic show to celebrate the end of Summer Reading Club 2018. This event is a free, family show and is part of ‘Cultivate,’ the Gabriola Arts Council’s performing arts festival. Sponsored by Gabriola’s amazing Friends of the Library. Please note: This event is taking place at the Cultivate Festival’s Garden Mainstage at the Gabriola Commons. Everyone welcome. Drop in.

Sat., Aug. 18 - Gabriola Quilters Show and Sale. Rollo Centre. 11am -4pm No entry Fee, door prize draw, quilts, misc. items for sale.

Sat., Aug 18 – Gabriola Groundwater Management Society.Annual General Meeting. Gabriola Commons Meeting Room. 1:30 p.m. Come and discuss water management in a dry year.

Sun., Aug 19 - Join the Museum Bus Tour - South End Historical with Danna Lewis. 2-4pm. Tix at North Road or the Museum. Leave from the museum.

Sun., Aug. 26 - Drumbeg House Annual Studio Sale. 10am – 4pm. 3085 Mander Road (off Stalker).  Come and celebrate Eli Wakan’s (constructionist sculpture) and Naomi Beth Wakan’s (books) 22 creative years on Gabriola. Wednesdays - Commons Mid-Week Market. Local farmers will be at the Timber Frame structure on the Commons every Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Peer Led Exercise Group. Classes held twice a week, Tues and Thurs from 11am -12pm at Agi Hall on North Rd. Drop-in fee $2. This circuit-style exercise program is safe and supportive for those who are managing chronic health conditions.
