Thurs., Aug. 9 - Gabriola Lions Concert on the Green featuring Completely Creedence’s Ultimate Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival, with opening group The Great Divide, Canada’s Tribute to The Band. Tickets from retailers on Gabriola, or from Gabriola Lions Club members.

Fri., Aug 10 to Sun., Aug 12 - Fork Off: Animals, Art & Advocacy. Opening at GAC Hall (476 South Rd Gabriola) Friday, August 10 7 to 9pm, and running Sat/ Sun 11 to 5pm. Featuring new work by 9 award-winning artists: Elsa Bluethner, Dianna Bonder, Tammy Hudgeon, Caroline James, Leslie Norgate, Sheila Norgate, Carole Reid, Zena Rogak and Mia Tremblay. Sun., Aug. 12 - 4th Annual Show ‘n Shine hosted by the Gabriola Cruisers Auto Club. 12pm - 3pm behind Twin Beaches Mall. Vehicle registration ($15) opens at 11am. Prizes and Awards. Partial Proceeds to Local Charities. Refreshments, Live Entertainment. Spectators get in for free. Live Entertainment from Flashback Freddy.

Sun., Aug. 26 - Drumbeg House Annual Studio Sale. 10am – 4pm. 3085 Mander Road (off Stalker).  Come and celebrate Eli Wakan’s (constructionist sculpture) and Naomi Beth Wakan’s (books) 22 creative years on Gabriola. Thursdays - French Conversation Circle at the Gabriola Library. 1pm to 2pm.

Peer Led Exercise Group. Classes held twice a week, Tues and Thurs from 11am -12pm at Agi Hall on North Rd. Drop-in fee $2. This circuit-style exercise program is safe and supportive for those who are managing chronic health conditions.
