Mon. & Tues., Dec. 14 & 15 – Twilight Radio Theatre  presents Miracle on 34th Street – a Live Radio Drama, starring David Botten, Tina Jones, Chris Jans, Kathy McIntyre and special guest Garry Davey, at the Surf Lodge. 7:30pm. Tix $20- from The Hive Emporium and the Surf Lodge Dining Room. For pre-show dinner reservations call 250-247-9231.

Wed., Dec. 16 - Family Movie Night at the Gabriola Library. 5 pm. We’ll be watching A Muppet Christmas Carol on the big screen, complete with popcorn. Drop in.

Thurs., Dec. 17 - PHC Senior’s Luncheon held at the Rollo Centre. Doors open at 10:30 am. This month Gabriola Handbells will be entertaining us. Lunch is served at 11:30 am. Please come and enjoy some good food and camaraderie with your friends and neighbours. Donations gratefully accepted at door.

Thurs., Dec. 17 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Gabriola Library. 2-4 pm. Join other fibre artists and enthusiasts for an afternoon of knitting, crocheting, stitching, felting and more. Beginners and newcomers welcome. Drop in.

Sat., Dec. 19 - A Gabriola Island Library Christmas. Join us for a festive celebration at the library with refreshments from 1-3 pm and singing with the Gabriola Island Singers from 1:30 – 2 pm. Everyone welcome.

Sat., Dec. 19. HUMBUGGERY: Your Festive Entertainment Alternative with Bossin, Bell, Peach, Wakan, Norgate, Yates, plus mystery guest. 7:30pm at the Women’s Institute 476 South. Rd. Tix $15 at HIVE

Sat. Dec. 19 – Gradanti + 3 – A Christmas Special. The Gradantis are coming home for the holidays! Join Lou Gradanti, Chrissy Gradanti-Fawcett, Kelly Fawcett and Kathy McIntyre, at The Hive Emporium, for a glorious evening full of harmonies, laughter and warm Christmas cheer.  7:00pm. Tix $20- from The Hive.

Dec. 19 & 20 - Christmas at the Roundhouse. Silver jewellery, hand cut copper Christmas ornaments, photo encaustic works, driftwood creations, christmas cards, handmade pillows, and much more. 11am to 4pm. 481 Berry Point. Artists: Wendy Stok, Christine Bletcher, Chris Straw.

Sun., Dec. 20 - Deadline to let the Gabriola Community Hall board know what you think of proposed changes to your Hall. Go to Paper copies at the library notice board. We need your input!

Mon., Dec. 21 - Christmas Alive! Outside at Folklife Village at 7:30pm. A great family activity as the churches of Gabriola present a live enactment of the traditional story of the birth of Christ. Come out and sing familiar carols, see the baby, the angels, the wise men and animals. Enjoy hot chocolate. No dogs, please.

Fri., Dec. 25 - Everyone welcome to 30th Community Spirit Feast Dinner. 4pm -7:30pm at Camp Miriam (Berry Point Road). Come by yourself, invite a friend, give up cooking for the day, and enjoy the company of your neighbours. Supper served at 4:30pm. Vegetarian options available. Fri., Jan. 1, 2015 - Join GaLTT on New Year’s Day, at  11:00 am, at the turn around at the top of Degnen Rd, for a forest walk of approximately 1 hour,  on single track trails and old forest service roads. There will likely be wet areas, so wear appropriate foot wear. Check the GaLTT website (  if there happens to be snow, which may result in cancellation.

Fri., Jan. 1, 2015 - Annual Gabriola Polar Bear Swim. High noon at Twin Beaches (Gabriola Sands Provincial Park). See you all there!
