Wed., Dec. 25 - Spirit Feast with People for a Healthy Community. At the Gabriola Island Community Hall. Enjoy an evening with our community that includes a warm dinner with all the fixings and live music. Doors open at 4pm. Dinner served 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Tues., Dec. 31 - The Skol Pub presents a Chill NYE with the Rusty Tones, as well as Elias and Jade and friends. 9pm-2am. No cover.

Tues., Dec. 31 - A New Year’s Eve “Nightlife” Intimate Concert at the Surf Lodge. Taste the nightlife of the elegant Supper and Jazz clubs of New York between the 1930s and 1960s. With feature performers Nicole Utulinde and Roger Christie. Tickets $20 at North Road Sports or Surf Lodge and Pub. Dinner reservations (separate) call 250-247-9231.

Tues., Dec. 31 - Community New Year’s Eve Celebration: Vision 2020. 5:30pm - 1:00am, All-ages, family-friendly, pay-what-feels-right. Community Hall. Potluck, art-making, reflection stations, games, early and late countdowns, and dancing! Tix at North Road Sports.

Tues., Dec. 31 - The Surf Pub presents NYE 2020 with DJs Turk and Mr. Bradbrooke. Funk, Glitch Hop, Nu Disco, and Bass House. Tix $20 at the Surf Pub.

Wed., Jan. 1, 2020 - Polar Bear Swim at Twin Beaches at Noon.

Thurs., Jan. 2 - Monthly Garden Club meeting. Our next meeting is January 2nd and our guest speaker is Dorothee Kaiser who will be talking about culinary herbs and herb gardening.  Doors open at 6:30pm and meeting begins at 7pm, at the Rollo Centre.

Fri., Jan. 3 -  Author Talk with Erica Etelson at the Gabriola Library. 1pm-2pm. Hear Erica Etelson discuss here book Beyond Contempt: How Liberals Can Communicate Across the Great Divide.

Sat., Jan.  4 - Meat Draw and 50/50 for the Gabriola Auxiliary for Island Health Care. 3:30pm at the Skol.

Sat., Jan. 4 - THE ABCs of the Gabriola Walks map. Free 1.5 hr GaLTT hike. 10 am. Park on South road near the yellow gate by Crestwood to meet Rebecca and start exploring Trail Z.

Straight Outta Gabriola” podcast series – Tuck in to island stories over the holidays. Wednesdays starting Jan. 8 - Preschool Storytime. 10:30-11am. Drop in with your little one for fun stories, songs, and rhymes. Stay afterwards for visiting, and for play with DUPLO blocks and other toys. Best suited for ages 5 years and younger with their parents or caregivers.

Wednesdays - Kirtan Bliss at the Commons Yurt. 7pm. Singing is the language of the heart. Feel unity and participate in the magic of “together.” 

Thursdays - French Conversation Circle at the Gabriola Library. 1pm to 2pm.
