Thurs., Mar. 2 - French Conversation Circle at the Library. 1-2 pm. Practice your French in an informal, friendly setting. Free, drop in.

Thurs., Mar. 2 - Gabriola Garden Club. Doors 7 pm, meeting 7:30pm. Speaker Pollen Heath and Lisa Butler Heath on Greenhouses, Gates and other Garden Structures. Everyone Welcome.

Fri., Mar. 3 - Buds to Blossoms: Bringing families & grandparents together. 3-4:30 pm at the library. Come to the library for a special time for would-be grandparents and families – enjoy crafting, toys and visiting together. This event is designed to allow families with children to meet up with island grandparents in our community to make supportive and lasting connections. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.  

Sat., Mar. 4 - Creating the Community We Want – Come Share Your Vision! Sustainable Gabriola invites you to celebrate the successes of the plan created seven years ago and forge anew the way to a community that is sustainable, resilient and regenerative. From 1 – 4 at the Community Hall.

Wed., Mar. 8 - Women’s Day Film Screening: The 10 Conditions of Love. 1 pm at the library. To her people, Rebiya Kadeer is a leader. To China she is a terrorist. Screening and discussion presented by Gabriola Chapter of Amnesty International. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sat., Mar. 11 - Spring Break Teen Mini Challenge at the Library. Looking for something to do over Spring Break? Get a mini task booklet at your library, complete tasks and return it to the library for a chance to win a mini prize! Ages 12 – 18 years.

Thurs., Mar. 16 - Gabriola Naloxone (Narcan) workshop. 1:15-3pm upstairs @The Commons. The training and kits are free, but you need to register. At the end of the training you’ll get a Naloxone kit. Sat., Mar. 18 - Gabriolans Against Freighter Anchorages is holding a public meeting to discuss the latest developments in the fight to prevent 5 proposed freighter anchorages off the island’s North East shore. We will also be showing “FREIGHTENED - The Real Price of Shipping”, a revealing documentary about the economic, environmental and human costs of the cargo shipping industry. 2pm to 4pm at the Community Hall
