Thurs., Jan. 25 - Gabriola Cruisers invites all Members and Car & Bike Enthusiasts to our monthly meeting. It will be held at the Gabriola Golf Club at 7 PM. Those wishing to eat should arrive earlier. Parking will no longer be allowed on the driving range, it can be in the staff parking area or the club parking lot.

Thurs., Jan. 25 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome! Free, drop in.

Wed., Feb. 7 - Tending the Lands, Tending the Sea: Traditional Land and Resource Management on the BC Coast. Part of the Gabriola Land and Trails Trust Annual General Meeting with Guest Speaker Dr. Nancy J. Turner. Emeritus Professor, Environmental Studies, University of Victoria. Dr. Turner is an eminent ethnobotanist who has worked with First Nations elders and cultural specialists in north-western North America for over 40 years in an effort to collaboratively document and retain traditional knowledge of plants and habitats. She will discuss the traditional knowledge, land and resource management systems of Indigenous Peoples. Her presentation integrates the fields of botany and ecology with those of anthropology, geography and linguistics.This presentation is complimentary to and supportive of the From Truth to Reconciliation Speakers Series.

Tuesdays - Ever wonder about Jesus? Who he is? What he says? Come find out for yourself by reading the Bible together. Or just come listen. Tuesdays 6:30-8:00 pm at Gabriola Fellowship Church, 775 Church St. We’ll be starting the New Testament, Jan 9, 2018. Everybody welcome. Bibles provided or bring your own. Library Weekly Events - Lego Club on Tuesdays 3pm to 4:30pm. Family Storytime on Wednesdays 10:30am to 11am. French Conversation Circle on Thursdays 1pm to 2pm. Spanish Conversation Circle on Thursdays 2pm to 3pm. 

Peer Led Exercise Group, Mon thru Thurs, 11am-12pm at Gabriola Rec Society Office (inside the elementary school) and Friday 11am – 12pm at the Community Hall. This circuit style exercise program supports those people who are managing chronic health conditions.  New participants must register.
