Wed., Jan. 30 - Play For All. A general meeting of the Gabriola Health and Wellness Collaborative with updates on accomplishments, awards, and projects. Listen to keynote presentations by two UBC Okanagan scholars on how incorporating elements of play into our daily lives can ensure Gabriola is a vibrant, healthy community for all ages. Speakers: Dr. Beverlie Dietze - Outdoor Play: Creating Wonder in Childhood that Lasts a Lifetime; Dr. Sharon McCoubrey - Art as Play. 9am to 12 noon. Families and children are welcome to attend. Childcare provided.

Thurs., Jan. 31 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome. Free, drop in.

Thurs., Jan. 31 - Gabriola Cruisers monthly mtg. Golf Club, 6pm for burgers, 7pm Meeting. 50/50 draw. Come and find out our plans for 2019 and meet Leo Green the owner of Monte’s Automotive in Nanaimo. Monte’s is the business that is on Terminal Ave and is into car restorations and he has some exciting news about getting all the local car clubs together and planning an event. Public Welcome.

Sat. Feb. 2 – Welcome back Spring and the return of the light with Song of Imbolc Sacred Sound Journey with carol weaver and Allannah Dow at the Net Loft. 1pm. $10 - $20 at the Door. Presented by the Gabriola Ecumenical Society.

Sun., Feb. 3 - Learn how to keep your poultry healthy! The Small Flock Poultry Health Workshop is a 1-day course intended for owners of small flocks who wish to learn more about common poultry diseases and ways to prevent them. 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Gabriola Agricultural Hall. $5 course fee with all proceeds going to the local Gabriola Agricultural Association Coop. All members of the public are welcome to attend but space is limited. Pre-registration is required by Jan 31, 2019. Register online at https://agihall.com

Drop-in fee $2. This circuit-style exercise program is safe and supportive for those who are managing chronic health conditions.
