Tues., July 10 & Wed., July 11 - Watch the World Cup on the big screen at the Roxy. Semi-finals at 11am Tuesday and Wednesday. Bring your own containers for coffee, cold beverages and snacks. All proceeds to the Gabriola Soccer Association.

Wed., July 11 - Frank Patrick brings his soul filled tunes to Gabriola accompanied by Paul Gellman. At the Roxy. Doors at 7pm, show at 7:30pm. Admission $15 at the door. 

Sat. July 14 - Roxy House Concert - ”The session” with Martin Nolan (Irish Uillean Pipes), Terry Boyle (Guitar). Email Marilyn Heraty to reserve $20 seat.

Sun., July 15 - World Cup Final on the Big Screen at the Roxy. Kick-off at 8am. Bring your own containers for coffee, cold beverages and snacks. All proceeds to the Gabriola Soccer Association.

Sat., July 21: Book launch with Liliana Kleiner. 2 pm. The Song of Inanna recounts the original ancient myth of the Goddess Inanna, from 6000 years ago in Sumer, and presents a psychosocial Feminist analysis relevant to our modern times. It also includes a collection of Liliana’s original artwork inspired by these eye-opening stories. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Thurs., July 26 - Gabriola Haiku Poetry Gathering Celebration: six poets share their work. 5pm at the Gabriola Library.

Fri., Aug 10 to Sun., Aug 12 - Fork Off: Animals, Art & Advocacy. Opening at GAC Hall (476 South Rd Gabriola) Friday, August 10 7 to 9pm, and running Sat/ Sun 11 to 5pm. Featuring new work by 9 award-winning artists: Elsa Bluethner, Dianna Bonder, Tammy Hudgeon, Caroline James, Leslie Norgate, Sheila Norgate, Carole Reid, Zena Rogak and Mia Tremblay. Wednesdays - Commons Mid-Week Market. Local farmers will be at the Timber Frame structure on the Commons every Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Peer Led Exercise Group. Classes held twice a week, Tues and Thurs from 11am -12pm at Agi Hall on North Rd. Drop-in fee $2. This circuit-style exercise program is safe and supportive for those who are managing chronic health conditions. Thurs., Aug. 9 - Gabriola Lions Concert on the Green featuring Completely Creedence’s Ultimate Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival, with opening group The Great Divide, Canada’s Tribute to The Band. Tickets $15, kids 12 and under free. Available around the island or from any member of the Gabriola Lions Club.
