Sat., July 21: Book launch with Liliana Kleiner. 2 pm. The Song of Inanna recounts the original ancient myth of the Goddess Inanna, from 6000 years ago in Sumer, and presents a psychosocial Feminist analysis relevant to our modern times. It also includes a collection of Liliana’s original artwork inspired by these eye-opening stories. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Thurs., July 26 - Haiku Poetry Celebration. 5 pm at the Gabriola Library. This summer marks 5 years since the final Gabriola Haiku Gathering in 2013. Celebrate with six of the poets who will be sharing their work: Naomi Beth Wakan, Carole MacRury, Lynne Jambor, kjmunro, Sonja Arntzen, Vicki McCullough, and Amelia Fielden. Free, drop in. Thurs., July 26 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome! Free, drop in.

Thurs., July 26 - Gabriola Cruisers invites all Members and Car & Bike Enthusiasts to our monthly meeting. It will be held at the Gabriola Golf Club at 7pm. Discussion will be held on the upcoming car show. Parking can be in either the staff parking area or the club parking across the road. Those wishing to eat should arrive earlier.
