Sun., July 27 - GaLTT Trail Volunteer Work Party. Meet Bob Weenk at 1:30 at the junction of Tin Can Alley and North Road. Once in the 707, Bob may take you anywhere. Hand clippers would be good, and the loppers will be available. 

Wed., July 30 - Meet experienced walker Bob Weenk for guided walks in the 707 Acre Community Park, Gabriola’s newest and largest community park. Walks will are approximately 1.5 hrs in length. Wear comfortable shoes, weather suitable clothing, and bring your own water. The next walk is scheduled for the Fisher Road circle at the south end of the park. Meet at the end of Fisher Rd at 1 pm.

Sun., Aug. 3 - Eoin Madden, Wilderness Committee and Nancy Crozier of Gabriola speaking at the Rollo Centre next to the Commons. 7-9pm. By Donation. Eoin will speak about the dangers to our water from coal tankers and from fracking. Nancy will tell us about how the Unist’ot’en people in the north are using the money we raised here on Gabriola to build a house on First Nations land to stop the oil pipeline. Don’t miss it!

Thurs., Aug. 7 - Gabriola Lions’ Club Concert on the Green featuring “The Timebenders” at the Gabriola Golf Club. Tickets for $15 available from any Lions Member or at Artworks. Under 12 free.

Workshops and markets

Gabriola Farmers’ Market: Open every Saturday until Thanksgiving at the Gabriola Agi Hall. Open to the public at 10am (wait for the bell) until 1pm. Dogs permitted if on a leash. Drop-in vendors: please arrive before 8:30am and speak to Daryl about a space.
