Wed., 24 - Family Playtime at the Gabriola Library. our librarian is away and it’s time to play! There’s no storytime, but we’re welcoming littles to drop by the library for some play and visiting time with others. Free. Drop in.

Thurs., July 24 - Gabriola Museum Event: Explore intertidal zones. 1-3pm at Drumbeg Provincial Park by donation.  Pre-registration (250) 247-9987.  All ages welcomed!

Thurs., July 25 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome. Free, drop in.

Thurs., July 25 - Gabriola Cruisers invites all Members and Car & Bike Enthusiasts to our monthly meeting. It will be held at the Gabriola Golf Club at 7 PM. Those wishing to eat should arrive earlier. Parking can be in the staff parking area or the club parking lot. Members, who have not yet paid their $ 25 annual dues, can do so at that time.

Sat., July 27 - Wanted! Western Film Set Crafters. 1-2:30 pm at the Library. The Keane Brothers, the creative team behind 2018’s Western spoof short film Rage of the Riders, need our help! Join us at the library as we work together to make tiny buildings that will become their next film’s model town. All helpers will get their name added to the film’s credits. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sat., July 27 - Art show & Sale. Original paintings by Karen cain & Tyrrell Clarke. One day only. 10am-5pm. Gabriola Arts & Heritage Center.

Sun., July 28 - Gabriola Museum Event: Explore (and taste) some of Gabriola’s native plants with local expert Robert Seaton. 1-3pm at the Museum by donation.  Pre-registration (250) 247-9987.

Wed., July 31 - Film: Festival! 7pm at The Roxy. Footage of four early-60’s Newport Folk Festivals, plus interviews with folk legends.  See Dylan, Baez, Buffy, Pete in great performances; lesser-knowns like Paul Butterfield, Jim Kweskin, Spider John; & lots of ‘real’ folk, like the Sacred Harp Singers, the Blue Ridge Mountain Dancers, and Howlin’ Wolf, to name just a few. 250-247-9182, donsflicks.wordpress.com.
