Wed., Mar. 18 - Wednesday Night Movie at the Gabriola Library showing Wall-E. It’s time for a movie and popcorn! Free, drop in event for families.

Fri., Mar., 20 - Victor Anthony CD Release Party - Victor and guests will perform the album, followed by CD sales and cake! Theatre Centre, 1475 Peterson. Free – doors 7pm, downbeat 7:30. No stree parking – please use the lot!

Sat. Mar., 21- Cuban Primavera, An Evening of Cuban Music. 20 minute music video by videographer/artist Paul Grignon of his recent trip to Cuba, to be followed by dancing and drumming. 7:30, Community Hall, Admission by donation to food bank

Sat., Mar. 21/Sun., Mar. 22 - The Canadian Firearms Safety Courses, which are required if you wish to  own, buy or inherit firearms, are being offered on March 21/22 for Non Restricted (shotguns/rifles) guns and Saturday, March 28 for Restricted guns (pistols). Wed., Mar. 25 - Gabriola Arts Council Presents Grim and Fischer by Wonderheads. This is the 2nd in the fundraising season of 3 shows! Gabriola Community Hall. Reception 6:30pm, Show at 7pm, Q&A at 8pm. Tickets $20 ($10 for under 17) at North Road Sports or at the Door. More info at

Weekly Events

Mondays - Scouts Canada – 1st Gabriola Group. Beavers (5-7 years of age) meet 6 – 7 pm and Cubs (8-10 years of age) meet 6 – 7:30 pm at the Gabriola Fellowship Church. Contact Rachel Dubois 250-247-9302 or

Thursdays: Technology help at the Gabriola Library. Drop-in between 1-2 pm.

Friday, April 2 to Sunday, April 12 - Isle of the Arts Festival. Gabriola Arts Council. Discover your most artistic and creative self at the Isle of the Arts Festival, with more than 40 workshops and events to help you enjoy, celebrate and explore arts and culture. Fibre arts, theatre arts, painting, printmaking, poetry and more!

Saturday May 16 - Opening Weekend of the Gabriola Farmers' Market at the Agi Hall. Traditionally open  10am to 1pm, every Saturday between Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend.

Sunday, August 2 - 4th Annual Brickyard Beast 10km road race. "One of the toughest 10k Road Races in Canada! Come and Slay the Beast!"

Thursday, August 6 - Gabriola Lions' Club Concert on the Green. Gabriola Golf Course. 4pm. The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Lions' with roughly 1,500 people on the driving range of the Golf Club enjoying the music, food and dog days of summer weather.

Thursday, August 13 to Sunday, August 16 - 7th Annual Gabriola Theatre Festival. Bold, Inclusive, Innovative, Incredible Energy, Incredible Theatre. Take the plunge on BC’s beautiful Gabriola Island. Call for Submissions for 2015 are open at

Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12 - Gabriola Arts Council Thanksgiving Studio Tour. Gabriola Island—the “Isle of the Arts”—has the sixth highest concentration of artists in Canada. While every day is a celebration of art on this lush and lively island, on Thanksgiving weekend the festivities reach dizzying heights. Island artists throw open their studio doors to tempt your senses with dazzling arrays of art! On October 10–11–12, the studios of sixty artists will be open for visiting and viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head to for more details.
