Sat., Mar. 21 – Saturday, Mar. 28: Spring Break Monster Mania Scavenger Hunt. Gabriola Library. Find monsters hidden around the library and enter to win a prize!

Thurs. Mar. 26 - PHC Senior’s Luncheon held at the Rollo Centre. Doors open at 10:30 am. This month Liz Ciocea from CATS Alive will be presenting a slide show for our information and entertainment. Lunch is served at 11:30 am. Please come and enjoy some good food and camaraderie with your friends and neighbours. Donations gratefully accepted at door.

Sat., Mar. 28, 2 - 4 pm.  Introducing the Art of French Polish with Patrick Olmsted. Beautiful, non toxic, versatile, easily repairable, organic, meditative approach to wood finishing.  Cost: 20$ includes all necessary materials.

Sat., Mar. 28 - Gabriola Agricultural Association Annual General Meeting. 10am-12pm at the Agi Hall. The Gabriola Agricultural Association has been a principal part of Gabriola’s history…come share the future!

Sun. Mar. 29 - First Seasonal Bio-Mapping of the Gabriola Commons. 11am and 2pm. Guided groups of observers will focus on wetland and dry land areas and wildlife, and will be led by local environmental experts and naturalists. Fibre arts, theatre arts, painting, printmaking, poetry and more!

Sun., Apr. 6 - Annual Easter Sunday Egg Hunt hosted by the Gabriola Rod, Gun and Conservation Club. Lineups start at 12:45, the hunt begins at 1pm sharp at the Commons.

Tuesdays at the Gabriola Library: Lego Club! 3-5pm.

Tuesdays: Ever wonder about Jesus? Ever wondered about what he said? Come and find out for yourself while we read the New Testament together. At the Gabriola Fellowship Church. (First reading session March 31) You can join anytime between 6:30 and 8pm. Everybody aged 13-113 is welcome. Bibles available for those who don’t have one.

Wednesdays - Family Storytime at the Library. 10:30 – 11 am. Drop in with your little ones for stories, songs, and rhymes. For ages 5 years and younger.

Thursdays: Technology help at the Gabriola Library. Drop-in between 1-2 pm.

AA meets at the WI Hall on South Road every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. Also meets on Fridays at noon. For more information contact 250-753-7513.

Annual Events

Saturday May 16 - Opening Weekend of the Gabriola Farmers' Market at the Agi Hall. Traditionally open  10am to 1pm, every Saturday between Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend.

Sunday, August 2 - 4th Annual Brickyard Beast 10km road race. "One of the toughest 10k Road Races in Canada! Come and Slay the Beast!"

Thursday, August 6 - Gabriola Lions' Club Concert on the Green. Gabriola Golf Course. 4pm. The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Lions' with roughly 1,500 people on the driving range of the Golf Club enjoying the music, food and dog days of summer weather.

Thursday, August 13 to Sunday, August 16 - 7th Annual Gabriola Theatre Festival. Bold, Inclusive, Innovative, Incredible Energy, Incredible Theatre. Take the plunge on BC’s beautiful Gabriola Island. Call for Submissions for 2015 are open at

Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12 - Gabriola Arts Council Thanksgiving Studio Tour. Gabriola Island—the “Isle of the Arts”—has the sixth highest concentration of artists in Canada. While every day is a celebration of art on this lush and lively island, on Thanksgiving weekend the festivities reach dizzying heights. Island artists throw open their studio doors to tempt your senses with dazzling arrays of art! On October 10–11–12, the studios of sixty artists will be open for visiting and viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head to for more details.
