Thurs., Mar. 28 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome. Free, drop in.

Thurs., Mar. 28 - Gabriola Cruisers invites all Members and Car & Bike Enthusiasts to our monthly meeting. It will be held at the Gabriola Golf Club at 7pm. Those wishing to eat should arrive earlier. Parking can be in the staff parking area or the club parking lot. Dennis Keis will deliver a photo presentation of vehicular & other things left behind from an abandoned WW2 pipeline in the NW Territories.

Sat., Mar. 30 - Surviving a Power Outage: Basic Practical Suggestions for Heat, Water, and Miscellaneous. 1-2 pm at the Gabriola Library. EmPower Gabriola members Fay Weller, Steve Earle, and Hans van Kessel will be on hand sharing tips, examples, and equipment options for how to prepare your home for power outages. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sun., Mar. 31 - The Gabriola Senior Citizens Association will hold its Annual General Meeting at the Rollo Seniors’ Centre, on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.  The AGM will be preceded by a Rollo Open House at 1:30 p.m. Both GSCA members and Gabriola community members interested in viewing our newly renovated facility are welcome to join us.  Coffee, tea, cookies, and good cheer will be provided free of charge.

Sun., Mar. 31 - Gabriola Island Singers - Spring Concert - One performance only at 2:30pm. Music Director Gail Lund and the Gabriola Island Singers present their annual Spring Concert at the Community Hall. Special Guests are Cindy Shepard, The Lund’smen and The Folk Group. Admission at the door is $15; children 12 and under accompanied by an adult are free. Refreshments.

Mon., Apr. 8 - Award-winning Victoria author Penny Chamberlain gives a workshop on writing children’s novels from 2pm to 6pm at the Gabriola Arts & Heritage Centre. This hands-on, practical workshop at the Isle of the Arts Festival includes tips on writing, marketing and finding a publisher. Suitable for the beginner or the veteran writer. $50 per person.
