Wed., Mar. 7 - Angry Inuk, 7pm film screening at the Roxy. A new tech-savvy generation of Inuit campaign to challenge long-established perceptions of seal hunting. By donation. Presented by Truth to Reconciliation Film Series in partnership with the National Film Board’s Indigenous Cinema on Tour.

Fri., Mar. 9 - Lulu presents: The Winter of Our Discontent an evening of music and theatre at The Phoenix Auditorium. 7:30pm.Tickets at North Road Sports $25 in advance, $10 for Youth 16 & under, $30 at the door.

Sat., Mar. 10 - Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley will be performing classic blues and jazz at the Roxy at 7:30, joined by Rick Rice on bass and Terry Allum on drums. Doors open at 7 pm, downbeat at 7:30. Tickets $20 at North Road Sports, or, if any are left, at the door.

Fri., Mar. 16 - Make It @ the Library: Mandala Colouring. 10:30am. Join other adults at the library for a morning of making and mindful relaxation. Use the library’s stash of felts and coloured pencils to colour in a mandala design. All materials provided. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sat., Mar. 17 - Gabriola Vegeteers present the film The Last Pig. 2pm at the Gabriola Library. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome. The Last Pig is a lyrical meditation on what it means to be a sentient creature with the power to kill.

Wed., Mar. 21 - Family Movie Night at the Library. 5 pm. We’ll be watching Up! on the big screen, complete with popcorn. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Fri., Mar. 23 -  Spring Break Puppet Show at the Library. 2:30 pm. Are you ready for a groovy adventure? Join us for a rockin’ puppet show and STEAM activity based on Pete the Cat. Suitable for all ages.

 Sat., Mar. 24 - Saturday Family Storytime at the Library. 11-11:30 am. Join us for fun songs, stories, and rhymes to share and stay afterward for visiting and Duplo block play time. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

 Tues., Mar. 27 - Great Gabriola Scavenger Hunt. Celebrate spring break with the mother of all scavenger hunts! Beginning at 10 am, drop by the Gabriola Library to pick up the list of 39 items. Find as many as you can by Thursday, Mar. 29 at 4:30 pm for a chance to win a gift card. Open to kids of all ages. Free, no registration required.

Thurs., Mar. 29 - Fibre Arts Circle at the Library. 2-4 pm. Bring your projects and enjoy an afternoon of tea and crafting with other fibre enthusiasts. Beginners and newcomers welcome! Free, drop in.

Sat., Mar. 31 - Made on Gabriola Night Market. 5-9pm @ Surf Lodge. Live music, talented local artists, dinner and drink specials. Reservations recommended for dinner.

Library Weekly Events - Lego Club on Tuesdays 3pm to 4:30pm. Family Storytime on Wednesdays 10:30am to 11am. French Conversation Circle on Thursdays 1pm to 2pm. Spanish Conversation Circle on Thursdays 2pm to 3pm.

Sundays - The Alpha Film Series. 12 weeks starting Jan. 28. Join us in a conversation to ask anything about life, faith, and God, in an open, informal, friendly, and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
