Wed., Mar. 8 - International Women’s Day Film Screening: The 10 Conditions of Love. 1 pm at the library. To her people, Rebiya Kadeer is a leader. To China she is a terrorist. Screening and discussion presented by Gabriola Chapter of Amnesty International. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Thurs., Mar. 9 - Spanish Conversation Circle at the Library. 1-2 pm. Practise your Spanish language skills in an informal, friendly setting. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Fri., Mar. 10 - Buds to Blossoms: Bringing families & elders together. 3-4:30 pm at the library. Come to the library for a special time for elders and families – enjoy crafting, playing together with toys and visiting. This event is designed to allow families with children to meet up with island elders in our community to make supportive and lasting connections. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Thurs., Mar. 16 - French Conversation Circle at the Library. 1-2 pm. Practice your French in an informal, friendly setting. Free, drop in.

Thurs., Mar. 16 - Gabriola Naloxone (Narcan) workshop. 1:15-3pm upstairs @The Commons. The training and kits are free, but you need to register. At the end of the training you’ll get a Naloxone kit. Sat., Mar. 18 - Gabriolans Against Freighter Anchorages is holding a public meeting to discuss the latest developments in the fight to prevent 5 proposed freighter anchorages off the island’s North East shore. We will also be showing “FREIGHTENED - The Real Price of Shipping”, a revealing documentary about the economic, environmental and human costs of the cargo shipping industry. 2pm to 4pm at the Community Hall

Sat., Mar. 18 - Stress Management – An approach that can change your life. 11 am – 12 pm at the library. Presented by Dr. Ariadnne Rionda-Arjona, a specialist in stress management. With very simple techniques at your fingertips, we will address the issue of stress and how you can manage it and improve your lifestyle.

Sat., Mar. 18 - Book launch with Joelle Anthony. 2 – 3 pm at the Library. Join us as we celebrate the launch of Joelle’s newest book, a work of middle-grade fiction entitled  A Month of Mondays. This is a free, drop in event. Everyone welcome, including children and families!
