Wed., Nov. 11 - Remembrance Day. Gabriola ceremony to be held in front of the memorial cairn at the Gabriola RCMP Detachment. 10:40 start.

Thurs, Nov. 12 - Everyday Experts - Join us at the Gabriola Library for an afternoon of discovering your ancestors with Jacquie Jessup, a graduate of the National Institute of Genealogical Studies - University of Toronto and a member of the Nanaimo Family History Society will be here to help you discover how to find your ancestors, where your information is being kept and how to access it. 2-3pm. Drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sat, Nov 14 – Mystics of India – 1-4pm at The NetLoft (1960 Murray Rd). A half-day retreat with Pandit Tejomaya. Hosted as part of the Gabriola Ecumenical Society’s 2015-2016 series ‘A Walk on the Mystical Side.’ All are welcome.  Suggested donation $20.

Sat., Nov. 14 - Refugees? Want to help? Bring some to Gabriola! Refugees entering Canada fare better when ordinary Canadians make a commitment to their success. Gabriolans are forming a sponsorship group and we welcome others to add their time, money and talent. Information and organization meeting will be held at 2pm at the WI Hall. Sat., Nov. 14 - Gabriola Museum Gift Shop open for Christmas Shopping 10:30am -4 pm. Books, local artisan wares.

Sat., Nov. 14 - Gabriola United Church Christmas Tea and Bazaar. 2-4pm at the Community Hall. Admission free, enjoy Coffee Tea Sandwiches, goodies $6. Bake table, frozen soups, plants and granny table. 

Tues., Nov. 17 - ​Dr. Jennifer Dyck works with people of all ages and health concerns and follows the Six Naturopathic Principles to assess, educate, treat, and support her patients in health and the process of healing. She has a special interest in digestive complaints and hormone imbalances, and also runs the Pain Relief Program through Valentus Clinics in Victoria, BC - she will be conducting a seminar at Nature Spirit Earth Market to build awareness on different probiotics and their applications. Fri., Nov. 20 - Tap Dance Sensations. Surf Lodge, 8:00pm. Joel Hanna, principal dancer with Riverdance, is leaping from NYC to Gabriola. Joel has fused TAP & Flamenco –creating a unique style of percussive dance, which of course has a wee bit of the Irish. Tre Dumas, renowned hoofer from Chicago, will be shuffling in with a Motown beat and hittin the wood at the Surf. The evening is completed with the melodic finesse of Tim Harrison.
