Sat., Nov. 17 - Meat draw for People for a Healthy Community. 3-5 p.m. at the Skol Pub. All proceeds support the Gabriola Food Bank.

Sat., Nov. 17 - “Humanity Ascending” – a DVD presentation sponsored by the Gabriola Ecumenical Society at the Rollo Centre, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Barbara Marx Hubbard, the co-founder and president of the Centre for Conscious Evolution, uses this documentary to share her vision for humanity presently at a critical stage of development. Are we able to transform into a new universal humanity capable of co-evolving with nature and co-creating with spirit? What will humanities new story be? Come and explore these questions. Sun., Nov. 18 - The Gabriola Youth Shooting Group is going to meet at 1 p.m. at the Gabriola, Rod, Gun and Conservation Club.  Any youth 17 years old or younger who are interested in learning how to safely handle and shoot firearms are invited to join us. There will be a $15 fee to cover the cost of insurance and parents will have to sign a permission form. The insurance fee will be waived for any youth who are covered by a family membership. Sat. & Sun., Nov. 24 & 25 - 3rd Annual Gabriola Artisan Christmas Fair. Rollo Seniors’ Centre (across North Road from elementary school). Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sat., Nov. 24 - Introduction to eBooks. 2 p.m. at the Gabriola Public Library. Learn step-by-step how to download eBooks onto your computer or eReader.

Thurs., Nov. 29 - The Gabriola Island Friends of the Library are pleased to present an evening with bestselling author, Lilian Nattel. Nattel is the author of Web of Angels, The River Midnight and The Singing Fire. At the Gabriola branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library. 6:30-8 p.m.

Thurs., Nov. 29 -Wine Pairing Dinner @ Woodfire. 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy a whole new experience on Gabriola. An exquisite six course taster menu expertly paired by Michael and Alanna with six wines, all for $75 per head. Michael and Alanna will be on hand to chat about the wines, or you can simply sit back, relax and be prepared to be pampered. Sat., Dec. 15 - Agi Association Christmas Craft Fair: The Gabriola Agricultural Association is holding their annual Christmas Fair at the Community Hall. This year’s Christmas Fair is now being held Saturday, Dec. 15 (one day only) from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Community Hall.
