Tues., Nov. 17 - ​Dr. Jennifer Dyck works with people of all ages and health concerns and follows the Six Naturopathic Principles to assess, educate, treat, and support her patients in health and the process of healing. She has a special interest in digestive complaints and hormone imbalances, and also runs the Pain Relief Program through Valentus Clinics in Victoria, BC - she will be conducting a seminar at Nature Spirit Earth Market to build awareness on different probiotics and their applications. Wed., Nov. 18 - Family Movie Night from 5-7 pm at the Gabriola Library. We’ll be watching Strange Magic on the big screen, complete with popcorn. Drop in.

Fri., Nov. 20 - Paws 4 Stories. Children read one-on-one to Therapy dog Pepper and his handler Adela. Call library at 250-247-7878 to sign up for a 15-minute session. 3-4 pm.

Fri., Nov. 20 - Tap Dance Sensations. Surf Lodge, 8:00pm. Joel Hanna, principal dancer with Riverdance, is leaping from NYC to Gabriola. Joel has fused TAP & Flamenco –creating a unique style of percussive dance, which of course has a wee bit of the Irish. Tre Dumas, renowned hoofer from Chicago, will be shuffling in with a Motown beat and hittin the wood at the Surf. The evening is completed with the melodic finesse of Tim Harrison. These three guys are going to be magical. Tix $23-avail-Surf and Hive. Only 80 tix.

Sat., Nov. 21 and Sun., Nov. 22 - “Cut to the Chase Theatre” presents “Doubt: A Parable” by John Patrick Shanley, directed by Robin Kelley. This dynamic staged reading is at The Theatre Centre, 1475 Peterson Rd., Nov. 21 at 7pm and Nov. 22 at 2pm. Tix by donation at the door. Info 247-9776

Wed., Nov. 25 - Author talk with David Smith “Why Bother Learning About the World At All?” 1-2 pm at the Gabriola Library. David Smith has written numerous award-winning books on geography and social studies for young people. He is from Victoria, BC. Everyone welcome.

Fri., Nov. 27 to Sun., Nov. 29 - Gabriola Players presents Robin Hood and His Merry Men. A hero to cheer, a villain to boo – and a dancing cow! Family fun at the Community Hall on November 27 & 28 at 7pm, November 28 & 29 at 2pm. Tickets: $17 (adults) $5 (youth) at North Road Sports and online at gabriolaplayers.ca. Under-fives free with a Food Bank donation.

Sun., Dec. 6 - 4th Annual Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department Food and Toy Drive. Drop food or toy donations into one of the gift-wrapped totes, or come see the firefighters during their decorated fire truck drive. Map of route to be printed in November 24 Sounder.
