Fri., Nov 29 - A Spiritual Travelogue to the Lands of Hildegard of Bingen and Francis of Assisi, at the Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre (behind Post Office). 1pm-2:30pm. Journey with Gabriolan Maureen Wild, to these special lands within Germany and Italy with a multimedia presentation of her recent photos and inspirational music/chant from each place. By donation. Any surplus goes to support the Gabriola Ecumenical Society.

Sun., Dec. 8 - Tis the Season to come out and enjoy the 43rd annual Gabriola Island Singers Christmas concert. 2:30pm. Admission is $15 at the door; children 12 and under are free. Special guests are the Gabriola Brass and the Lund’smen. One performance only.

Thurs., Dec. 12 - EmPower Gabriola, the island’s Sustainable Energy Co-op, is having its second Annual General Meeting at 6 pm upstairs at the Gabriola Commons. Anyone interested is welcome to attend to learn what’s been happening and take part in the discussion of future plans, but only those who have purchased the $30 membership share by time of meeting are eligible to vote. Sat., Dec 14 - A Gabriola Island Library Christmas. Join us for a festive celebration at the library, with refreshments and singing with the Gabriola Island Singers. Everyone welcome. 1-3 pm: Hot apple cider & cookies. 1:30 pm: Carols with the Gabriola Island Singers. This event is generously supported by the Friends of the Library.

Sun., Dec. 15 - The Gabriola Chamber Ensemble with Director, Brad Shipley, choir and orchestra, presents their Fall concert “Love Came Down At Christmas.” 3 pm at Christ Church Gabriola, 2600 South Road. Tickets at the door, $15. Children under 16 free with an adult. The varied program will include a premier performance of a piece written by local musician, Nico Rhodes, plus special guests, the Gabriola Brass performing a medley of Christmas tunes.

Sat., Dec. 7 - Gabriola Elementary School PAC Christmas Fair. 10am to 3pm. at the school. Great local vendors. Silent Auction. Concession. Photos with Santa. Raffle. And the famous Cookie Walk. All proceeds directly benefit the Gabriola Elementary School PAC.

Sat., Dec. 14 - Gabriola Agricultural Association Co-op Christmas Craft Fair. 10am til 3pm at the Community Hall.
