Wed., Nov. 7 - Save Our Shores Letter Writing Café. 3-5 p.m. at the Old Crow Café in Folk Life Village. Information regarding the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline. Action cards to various MLAs will be available for signing. Please come out and learn more about pipelines and tankers.

Fri., Nov. 9 - The Re-scheduled Annual Halloween Fireworks Show from the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department. Fireworks at 7 p.m. at Twin Beaches. Hot dogs and other treats served up by the Firefighters Association.

Sat., Nov. 10 - Notice of Public Town Hall meeting. Gabriola Island Ratepayers is hosting a public meeting to discuss various aspects of our BC Ferries services and options for the link to Vancouver Island. A number of panelists from Gabriola will make short presentations about the features of this issue. It is hoped that others will add new thoughts to the discussion. Do you think that a bridge is the only other option? 2 p.m. at the Agi Hall.

Sat., Nov. 10 - Presentation by Frank Rotering: “A Radical Response to the Ecological Crisis.” Large meeting room at the Commons, 1 to 3 p.m.

Saturdays - Teen Night at the Gathering Place from 7 p.m. to midnight.

AA meets at the WI Hall on South Road. Every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. Also meets on Fridays at noon. For more information contact 250-753-7513.

Mondays - Al-Anon is a mutual support program for people who are currently, or have been, affected by someone else’s drinking. Meets at 7 p.m. at the WI Hall. For info call 250-247-2030.
