Tues, Oct 18 - Gabriola Commons AGM. @ 3:30 pm. Upstairs in the Commons House.  Partial agenda: Treasurer’s Report, Election of new Trustees.

Tues., Oct. 18 - The Gabriola Advisory Planning Commission will be holding a meeting to discuss the survey results of the Housing Options Review Project. 5:30pm at the Islands Trust Northern Office 700 North Road, Gabriola Island, BC. The public is invited to attend.

Wed., Oct. 19 - Family Storytime at the Library. 10:30-11 am. Favourite stories, songs, and rhymes for wiggly little ones! Best suited for children birth to 5 years. Free, drop in.

Wed., Oct. 19 - Family Movie Night at the Gabriola Library. 5 pm. We’ll be watching The Jungle Book (2016) on the big screen, complete with popcorn. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Thurs., Oct. 20 - Janet Vickers book launch  at the Library. 6 pm. Janet will be reading from her newest book of poetry Infinite Power. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Fri., Oct. 21 - NFB Film: Grassroots in Dry Lands. 11 am. This documentary reveals a unique human-rights-based approach to democratic change taking root in neighbourhoods across Palestine, Israel, and Jordan. Free, drop in at the Gabriola Library.

Sat., Oct 22 - Music and Poetry on Love, 1:00pm at The Roxy, music and recitations by Allannah Dow and Leah Hokanson, hosted by Gabriola Ecumenical Society as part of the year-long theme ‘Fires of Transformation ... and the greatest of these is Love.’  All are welcome.  By donation at the door.  www.gabriolaecumenical.com

Sun., Oct. 30 - Halloween Fireworks. Brought to you by the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department Firefighters’ Association. 7pm. Gabriola Sands (Twin Beaches) Provincial Park. Donations received in the firefighter boots at many Gabriola businesses help cover the cost of the fireworks and are gratefully accepted.
