Sat., Oct. 28 - Halloween Fireworks. Brought to you by the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department Firefighters’ Association. 7pm. Gabriola Sands (Twin Beaches) Provincial Park. Donations received in the firefighter boots at Gabriola businesses help cover the cost of the fireworks and are gratefully accepted.

Sat., Oct. 28 - Author talk with Joan Haggerty at the Library. 2 pm. Joan will be presenting her book The Dancehall Years, a complex family saga that begins on Bowen Island during the Depression and moves through Pearl Harbour and the evacuation of the Japanese and into the 1970s. Free, drop in. Everyone welcome.

Sun., Oct. 29 - Gabriola Power Squadraon hosts Bran VanHardenberg’s 2nd powerpoint talk on experiences aboard icebreaker in the Canadian Arctic. Rollo Centre. Doors open at 6pm. Admission by donation. Tea, coffee, & cookies available for socializing before presentation at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.

Peer Led Exercise Group - Mon thru Thurs, from 11am-12pm at Gabriola Rec Society Office (beside the elementary school).
