Join us as we welcome Nanaimo author Brian Harvey speak about his inspiration and the writing process behind his fascinating and adventurous memoir, Sea Trial: Sailing After My Father. Free, drop in. Thurs., Oct. 3 - Gabriola Reads. A Community Literary Conversation. Five books. Five champions. One winner: Gabriola’s first-ever Battle of the Books features five Gabriolans defending the book they believe is the Quintessential Canadian Novel. Sheryl McKay, arts-lover and host of CBC Radio’s North-by-Northwest, will be host and referee for the evening. All books are for sale at Pages Marina & Bookstore and available at the Gabriola Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Gabriola Library. 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
