Thurs., Oct. 1 and Fri., Oct. 2 - Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Foundations on Gabriola. A rich, interactive workshop aimed at self understanding, relationships and overcoming conflict. Sat., Oct. 10 to Mon., Oct. 12 - Gabriola Arts Council Thanksgiving Studio Tour. Gabriola Island—the “Isle of the Arts”—has the sixth highest concentration of artists in Canada. While every day is a celebration of art on this lush and lively island, on Thanksgiving weekend the festivities reach dizzying heights. Island artists throw open their studio doors to tempt your senses with dazzling arrays of art! On October 10–11–12, the studios of sixty artists will be open for visiting and viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head to artsgabriola.ca/events for more details.
