“Being a part of Body Talk is amazing because it’s fun and interesting. You learn really cool things, and you get to know a lot of new people.” - Andrew Etando, a member of Crimson Coast Dance Society’s Body Talk Cru.

This is so worth another ferry trip. Workshops that teach two fantastic dance styles, flamenco and capoeira, and at a price that won’t break the bank. During spring break – March 18-22 – the young dance enthusiasts of Crimson Coast Dance Society’s Body Talk Cru, a teen council that plans dance events for our community, are running daily workshops for all ages.

The workshops are led by Professor Caju from the Victoria Capoeira School and Veronica Stewart from Vancouver’s Flamenco Rosario Dance company. They will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22 for teen participants, and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. the same days for families of all ages, from primary school-age children to seniors. The workshops take place at Vibe Studios at 2-1969 Boxwood Rd. in Nanaimo and cost a mere $25 for the week.

A whole five days to live the life of a dancer, and to end the week off there is a performance at the Port Theatre on March 23 at 7:30 p.m. Gabriola is filled with creative folks, so we are sure these dance workshops will make some people very happy.

To book your space for the workshops, please contact Crimson Coast Dance Society at 250-716-3230 or dance@crimsoncoast.org.
