The daily revelations of federal government crimes should remind us of what is at stake in the BC election. For years Gabriola was a center of provincial NDP crime. Local NDP MLA Dave Stupich plea bargained 64 charges to only being convicted of fraud in the Bingogate charity racket. His Bingogate mansion at the end of Berry Point Road (now with new owners) shows that the essence of socialism is a criminal attitude: To take instead of make. That is why socialist governments always cause decline, and are inevitably corrupt.
Under RCMP questioning local NDP MLA Dale Lovick could "not remember" approving the transfers of charitable funds to NDP accounts, even though he was a Director involved. NDP Premier Dave Barrett was charged, but the charges were later dropped.
NDP Premiers Mike Harcourt and Glen Clarke were both forced to resign because of NPD criminal actions or charges. When convicting the NDP in the Carrier Lumber case, Justice Parrett described how the NDP operates: "It is difficult to conceive of a more compelling and cynical example of duplicity and bad faith."
Four years of sound stewardship by the BC Liberals have turned BC around after the NDP's decade of decline. A vote for the BC Liberals continues our present security and progress. A vote for Mike Hunter supports his integrity and service. Voting for the NDP just pushes us back to the NDP's criminal past.
