United Church Harvest Home Supper
- A great community event
Monday, September 29 2008
There was a happy hum in the Community Hall last Saturday night when over 150 folk gathered to enjoy the United Church annual Harvest Home Supper. An unprecedented number of plates of the best-ever turkey, trimmings and pies were served. The evening also provided the first opportunity for the church’s new minister Reverend Tim Lissimore to meet and talk with members of the community since moving to the island with his family in the summer.
There are many to thank who helped to make this event such a success. We are grateful to all who bought tickets; to those in our church family our extended families for all they do; and special thanks are extended to Shirley Nicholson, Chef Double Dave, Ken Capon, Nigel Hart, The Haven, The Sounder and once again to The Village Food Market for donating the turkeys.
Our fund-raising events contribute to the ability of the little church in the wildwood to grow and to help others. Our worship services take place at 10:30 am on Sundays and all are welcome.
