RCMP Press Release
Submitted by Cst. Mike Reid
Monday, September 29 2008

On Tuesday, September 23rd, Gabriola RCMP responded to a request to assist the Gabriola Island Volunteer Fire Department in the 300 block of Berry Point Road. Thanks to the quick response and actions of the crew, an intentionally set brush fire that was quickly spreading in the woods approximately 50 feet from the edge of the roadway was knocked down. Anybody who may have seen any suspicious activity in the early afternoon, such as people entering and exiting the area across from the mailboxes located on Berry Point Road near Ricardo Road are asked to call Police or Crimestoppers with any information.
