The new Ahlborn Galanti organ recently installed at the United Church has met expectations. It is sounding like its big pipe organ cousins already. Organist Hiromi Bradshaw is able to make it happen.
The much-needed addition to the church is also nearing completion, with the storage space, washroom for the disabled, and installation of the new commercial kitchen by Christmas. The church now has wireless Internet access as well. The new lighting system in the hall works well, and thanks to the Gabriola Power Squadron for making this possible. Talk about getting into the 21st century!
The first organ concert takes place Saturday, October 4th, at 7 pm, and includes short pieces by guest musicians, Saburo Murata, Don Butt, Elizabeth Lutz in duet with Elizabeth Wilson. Tickets are at the door, $15 each and all proceeds are for the building fund.
Come early - we expect a large audience.
