Dancing Man is waiting in the wings
Monday, March 24 2008
You may not recognize Gabriola’s Dancing Man Festival this year.
There have been a few changes that organizers are excited about, including: a new website to be up and running by the end of the month. Also coming soon: a revised logo and a brochure this year, instead of the traditional newspaper pull-out. It’s something folks can carry around with them.
The Gabriola Arts Council and Dancing Man have also put together something new that will appeal to many residents and visitors. It’s called ARTSTART, a series of workshops geared towards people who have always wanted to try their hands and feet at artistic endeavours such as painting or dancing.
Here’s a peek at part of the line-up for 2008: Gerry Barnum, Victor Anthony, The Twisters, Eric Dozier and the One Family Gospel Choir, Latif Bolat, a Zula production at the Roxy, among other artists.
“I can’t wait for this show - Women in The Round, an awesome female trio,” said Antonio Gradanti. He’s the new artistic director and the Sounder will have an interview with him in an upcoming issue.
