Annual community Christmas dinner
Thursday, January 8, 2004
Gabriola's Community Christmas Dinner was held this year at the Haven and was enjoyed by over 50 festive Gabriolans.
PHC owe a big vote of thanks to the volunteers and organizers, particularly Debi Brummel, Emergency Food Depot coordinator, the two Haven chefs, Travis Graham and Justin Devlin, who gave up their day to prepare and serve a delicious turkey (and ham!) dinner and all the trimmings. None of this could have happened without those who donated food, gifts for under the tree, live musical interludes before and after the feast, the Haven managers for a venue with perfect Christmas ambience, and last but not least, all those Gabriolans who came out to share and celebrate the day with one another.
PHC also expresses appreciation to Ken Stefanson who put together an Old Fashioned Christmas Concert on December 20th with all money raised going to the Emergency Food Depot and the school lunch program. Thanks also, of course, to the excellent performers who put on such a professional and enjoyable show.
