Bicycle maintenance workshop at the Commons
Victor Anthony The Commons
Tuesday, August 24 2010
The Commons and the Gabriola Green Bikes Program are pleased to announce the first in a series of basic bicycle maintenance workshops. Thanks to a generous donation from Hank Sirlin, a GGBP representative has recently completed a one week intensive course at United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon and will be leading the workshops. The first will take place on Saturday, Sept. 4 at The Commons, from 10 a.m. until noon. It will focus on tire and chain maintenance with subsequent events dedicated to brakes, gears and other components. The workshops will be offered at no cost though donations to GGBP will be gratefully accepted. Enrollment is limited to ten people but there will be a repeat if there’s sufficient community interest. To reserve a spot, please call 247-0083. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to bring their own bikes. «more»

The films, each approximately 45 minutes long, will be showing at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – drop by for one or two or all – one donation covers the whole day! «more»
