Fishing Report for June 12, 2019
The Chinook salmon just keep piling through! This is perhaps the best fishing I’ve seen in twenty years. In depths of 180 to 220 feet at the waterfall, there is loads of bait and fish.

Two local friends, Penny Sidor and Lisa Millard, got together in October to create a slush fund to assist animal owners with big bills. So far, Pet Friends has made 12 donations, ranging from a badly-needed grooming to several hundred for emergencies and ongoing problems.

read more...Where the money goes that is raised by the Gabriola Auxiliary for Island Health Care
While some think it all goes to our clinic, only $16,500 has gone to the Health Care Foundation to help finance upgrades to the reception area, the communications network and to purchase equipment. The rest of the $130,000 raised by the Auxiliary since 2012 has gone to help local non-profit societies bring much needed health related programming to Gabriola.
