There are still some quality Chinook around, but not in great numbers. We caught some fish in the 15 to 21 pound range this week, but had to work pretty hard for them. There are lots of 3 to 5 pound Chinook to sort through, as well as the tiny Coho which have just emerged from the rivers. Thrasher to green can, Grande, and Entrance are all producing the occasional nice Chinook. Trolling the T-Rex or Blue Meany hoochie, or the Watermelon or Night Rider spoons have been head turners. Depths range 120 to 220 feet on the downriggers.

It was a slow week for Coho, although I just received an email from the fearless Cabezon that he encountered a large school of Coho in 500 feet of water off Thrasher. The Pinks are thick around Entrance, if you want to pursue them.

Prawning is still dynamite for large prawns off the Flat tops. The current was very strong this week, and even towed my heavily weighted traps down towards Brant Reef.

Good fishing!
