Chinook fishing slowed a bit last week, although there is still medium numbers of fish around. The keepers last week were “barely legals” in the 25 to 26 inch range, with most of the catch consisting of undersized fish.

Porlier, Tent Island, Thrasher, Grande to Waterfall, and the Fingers are worth a try, with bottom bouncing in the 150 to 200 foot depths the predominant method. Baits of choice include bait in green/chartreuse Rhys Davis teasers, the Evil Eye or Killy McGee spoons, or the T-Rex hoochie. Plugs are a good choice with clear water conditions also, and the blue/white five-inch Tomic used to be my favourite. Remember to juice up the speed to about 3.5 knots with plugs, and never use them with flashers.

Prawning is still good off the Flat Tops. Try tuna cat food on the 350 foot contour for best results.

Good fishing!
