Chinook fishing can be good off Entrance and Thrasher, although it is dependent on bait supply. Try Entrance Island/Entrance Reef either in shallow water, 60 to 100 feet, or off the shelf in 200 to 220 feet of water. I’m using small plugs in the shallows, or flasher/T-Rex in the deep. Thrasher to green can is best fished the same way, either up on the structure, or out in 150 to 200 feet of water.

There are coho distributed at Entrance, the Flat Tops and Thrasher. About 30 per cent are hatchery fish. Some of the wild coho now weigh six pounds.

Prawning is again good off the Flat Tops. I’ve had the same two-foot octopus in my traps the past two drops. Always entertaining trying to get them back out of the boat.

Good fishing!
