Chinook fishing is on the slow side, mostly with an occasional undersized fish being released. Hopefully the lull won’t last long. Generally, mid-April starts the positive trend, with the first of the wave of migrating chinook coming through our waters.

For now, try and find some good-sized bait schools, and fish with Rhys Davis teasers and whole baits, the Killy McGee or Evil Eye spoons, or the T-Rex hoochie.

Prawning has slowed dramatically also. The general trend is only about 15 prawns per trap. We’ll see how this materializes after the last of the herring spawn.

Good fishing!
