Chinook fishing has been reported to be very good at Thrasher. There is a nice mix of abundant, undersized and legal 8 to 12 pound fish. Depths range from 130 to the bottom in 130 to 200 feet of water. Bait in Rhys Davis teasers, spoons in evil Eye or Killy McGee, or the T-Rex hoochie are baits of choice. Prawning is excellent off the Flat Tops. Try tuna cat food on the 350 foot contour for best results.

I have been in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, and the fishing there has been wonderful. There are Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Roosterfish, and the Black Marlin being caught. Ballyhoo fished live on the surface has been the best method, and the fish striking top water is thrilling. Having the Tropicana prepare blackened and butter/garlic Dorado, and bringing it to your table is one of life’s nicer pleasures.

Good fishing!
