A new, small run of chinook passed through our waters last week, providing some decent catches in the 8 to 18 pound range. Grande to Waterfall was the best locale, bottom bouncing in 140 to 170 feet of water. Bait in clear green scale Rhys Davis teasers, hoochies in T-Rex, Blue Meany or Army Truck, or spoons in Evil Eye or Kitchen Sink caught most of the fish.

There was the occasional hatchery coho taken off the Grande, Thrasher and Entrance. Pink salmon and halibut are now closed for retention, as will ling and rockfish be on October 1.

Prawning remains excellent off the Flat Tops. Expect 100 to 125 per trap, fishing with tuna cat food on the 350 foot contour.

Good fishing!
